How will the car be towed
Types of towing:
There are two general types of towing “wheellierhook”
trucks and “flatbeds”. You may see different type and styles
on the road but these are the most common. Both take about
the same amount of time to load and best of all...we charge
the same for either truck!
A vehicle can be towed forward or backward depending on
the tow truck drivers preference, your vehicle’s transmission
or placement of the vehicle upon arrival of the drop site.
The Advantages- These trucks usually have winches with long
cables to perform recoveries. Generally they are smaller
in size than flatbeds. Flatbeds Also known as a “carrier
truck” because they carry your vehicle on a flat surface
while being tied down to the bed.
The Advantages- Great for loading 4x4’s, all-wheel-drives,
heavily damaged vehicles. Sometimes they can helpful in
a steep driveway situation where a hook truck would get
stuck.
There is less “stress” on lightly constructed vehicles such
as corvettes which are all fiberglass. How it's done...
The bed is lowered down, the vehicle is winched up the bed,
the vehicle is tied down and then the bed is set back into
position. Occasionally two vehicles can be towed at the
same time
